The scene changes slowly at first. Details that look incidental from a distance become the structure of the place when you stop long enough to look.
Roads, roofs, fields and cables overlap without a clean boundary between the old landscape and the systems built across it. The photograph at the top of this prototype is deliberately allowed to dominate the first screen, then gives way to the story as the page moves.
This body copy is intentionally simple: the prototype is testing motion, continuity and navigation rather than editorial layout. The important part is that the article remains a normal vertical document while horizontal gestures can move between neighboring stories.
On Safari, the browser chrome can change the visual viewport while this page is being scrolled. The hero therefore extends beyond the nominal viewport edges so the image remains underneath any newly revealed browser area instead of exposing the page background.
The same spatial language continues between stories. A horizontal gesture sends the current article deeper into the screen while the adjacent one approaches from the corresponding edge.
